On THIS day though? I decided I am going SLAY like Shilora. Lol. Every blogger should be different and unique in their own way. Every blogger should bring something different to the table that clearly distinguishes them amongst others. For a very long time I tried to search to find myself and who I was not just as a blogger but as a person. As a blogger, I’d ask myself: “what’s my thing? what makes me special? what separates me from the other bloggers and everyone else at the size take pictures of themselves and just put them on the Internet?”. If you’ve been with me for a while you have seen my style evolve and change through the years.
The one thing I did notice that was a common thread in a lot of my pictures was the movement in my hair. It’s so crazy because I’ve always struggled with my “hair-dentity”(my hair identity). I was always looking for ways to make over my hair, my look, wear my hair a different way and I don’t know I just always express myself through my hair and even though my hair has pretty much been the same the last five or six years of my life, I remember going through an experimental stage coming out of high school. I would color it, add pieces to it, twist it myself, you name it. That’s also when I started wearing extensions and all kind of things that my mother never let me wear when I was younger or at least in high school. And that truly helped me evolve into who I am. So bringing this all back together I should say my movementsor the movement in my hair is what separates me as a blogger this is like hair liiiiife every time I look at the pictures after we take them or had a full day of shooting. It’s exciting and I’m proud to say that this is who I am this is my “hair-dentity” this is what separates me from the rest, slangin’ this hurrrrrrr. What’s your thing?
